Chris Sheban started his career at a design and illustration firm in Perugia, Italy, where surrounded by the world’s greatest artwork, opened his eyes to the possibilities in visual storytelling. His illustrations evoke childlike dreamscapes and immerse the viewer in the scene.
Based in the Chicago area where he lives with his wife and two daughters, Chris has illustrated seven picture books and the covers of many chapter books, including Because of Winn-Dixie and The Tiger Rising, by Kate DiCamillo, and Paperboy by Vince Vawter, a 2014 Newbery Honor book. His artwork has also been a part of major ad campaigns, packaging and annual reports.
His work has appeared in numerous Communication Arts Illustration Annuals. Chris has received three Gold and three Silver medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York.
